Await The Dawn is reported to be in slightly better health following his comprehensive eclipse in Wednesday’s Juddmonte International at York.
The Aidan O’Brien-trained four-year-old was expected to confirm his star status in the 10-furlong (2000m) Group One and was duly sent off the 8-13 favourite.
However, he never really looked like winning and eventually trailed home nearly six lengths adrift of winner Twice Over.
He was subsequently found to have a temperature and O’Brien’s wife Anne-Marie reports him to be recovering well.
“Await The Dawn’s condition has improved this morning, his temperature and blood are improving, hopefully he will continue to make progress,” she tweeted.
