Former Australian superstar So You Think will face up to 10 rivals in Wednesday’s Prince Of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot as he strives to keep his unbeaten record in Europe intact.
So You Think has been the long odds-on favourite in his two wins since joining the Aidan O’Brien stable in Ireland and is at 4-7 with Paddy Power for the Group One Prince Of Wales (2000m), the Racing Post reported.
It said Planteur, who won the Prix Ganay at his most recent start, is 100-30 second favourite while triple Group One winner Twice Over, who will be stepping up in distance after finishing down the track in the Lockinge Stakes (1600m) at Newbury last start, is an 8-1 shot.
Last year’s Derby and Arc hero Workforce, as expected, was taken out of the race.
O’Brien has four of those left in but his team will be cut with Cape Blanco expected to go for the Queen Anne Stakes and Await The Dawn the Hardwicke Stakes.
His other possible starter is Jan Vermeer who finished third in the Brigadier Gerard Stakes at Sandown last start.
So You Think, prepared in Australia by the great Bart Cummings to win two Cox Plates among his five Group One victories, added to his tally at the elite level with his last-start 4-1/2-length romp in the Tattersalls Gold Cup (2112m) at the Curragh on May 22.
