Melbourne Cup winner Protectionist is on his way to Canada to run in Sunday’s Woodbine International.
Protectionist has won his last two starts in Germany after returning home from a disappointing second preparation in Australian after he emphatically won the Melbourne Cup at his second start Down Under.
The 2014 Melbourne Cup winner was a chance to return for a tilt at this years edition of the race however connections made the choice to head to Canada instead to contest the Canadian International Stakes worth $1million CAD.
