Andre Fabre’s exciting filly Golden Lilac is likely to put her unbeaten record on the line in the Prix de la Nonette at Deauville on August 23.
The daughter of Galileo is enjoying a fantastic year, winning both the French 1000 Guineas and the French Oaks.
Should all go well in the Nonette, Golden Lilac would be set for a trip into unknown territory stamina-wise for the Prix Vermeille over a mile and a half (2400m) at Longchamp.
“Golden Lilac will run in Deauville. That is going to be her prep race for possibly running in the Prix Vermeille,” Fabre said.
“I still have doubts about the distance of the Prix Vermeille, but we will see how she runs over a mile and a quarter (2000m) at Deauville.
“We still do not know about the mile and a half but if she pleases us, she could take her chance in the Vermeille and we will see.”
Another unbeaten inmate who is getting Fabre excited is Mutual Trust.
The three-year-old has won his first four starts and opened his account at Group One level when edging out Zoffany and Strong Suit in the Prix Jean Prat at Chantilly at the start of the month.
“I was very happy with him. He is a real trier and he is showing good form,” Fabre said.
“He is going to run in the Prix Jacques le Marois (Deauville, August 15) next. There are no other options for him.”
