Hong Kong superstar Ka Ying Rising has extended his remarkable winning streak to 20 with another dominant display in the Group 1 Chairman’s Sprint Prize (1200m) on Champions Day at Sha Tin.
Trained by David Hayes, the world’s premier sprinter once again showcased his brilliance, unleashing a devastating burst at the 300m mark to surge clear of top Japanese galloper Satono Reve.
Despite early suggestions that a steady tempo may have cost him a faster overall time, Ka Ying Rising still managed to break his own track record, trimming a further 0.02 seconds to stop the clock at 1:07.10.

It marks the second consecutive run in which he has lowered the Sha Tin benchmark, having also set a new standard over 1400m in the Group 1 Queen’s Silver Jubilee Cup.
Ka Ying Rising now holds six of the nine fastest times ever recorded over 1200m on turf at Sha Tin, underlining his dominance at the distance.
After a relatively slow opening 200m, he accelerated sharply over the final stages, clocking a blistering 21.52 seconds for his last 400m — his quickest closing sectional to date.
With victories in the Chairman’s Sprint Prize, the Group 1 Centenary Sprint Cup and the Queen’s Silver Jubilee Cup, Ka Ying Rising has completed the Hong Kong Speed Series for a second straight season.
The achievement secures a HK$5 million bonus for connections and makes him just the second horse in history to claim the series twice.
