Victoire Pisa and Nakayama Festa were among four Japanese raiders to arrive in France ahead of October’s Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.

This year’s Dubai World Cup winner Victoire Pisa and last year’s close Arc runner-up Nakayama Festa, along with Tenno Sho winner Hiruno D’Amour, are likely to have a trial run in the Prix Foy.

The three-year-old Nakayama Knight is being prepared for the Prix Niel – also a target for Epsom Derby hero Pour Moi.

Victoire Pisa and Hiruno D’Amour will be stabled with French-based Japanese trainer Satoshi Kobayashi.

“First of all, we have arrived safely,” the former’s trainer Katsuhiko Sumii said.

“I’m relieved since both horses are well. I’ll start thinking of his training schedule from here on.

“I think this race is actually the world championship of horseracing. It will be an honour just to be involved.

“I am sure that we have a chance to win.”

Nakayama Festa and Nakayama Knight will be housed nearby with Tony Clout.

“First of all, it’s a relief they’ve arrived safely. Both horses look good,” their trainer Yoshitaka Ninomiya said.

“The horses really appreciate the cool climate.

“As for their work, I’ll be giving a lot of thought to things as we go along.”
