A return to Deauville is on the cards for Goldikova following her fourth consecutive victory in the Prix Rothschild on Sunday.
Freddie Head’s incredible mare was back on duty in France after a rare defeat at the hands of Canford Cliffs at Royal Ascot.
But it did not stop her securing a 14th victory at the highest level under Olivier Peslier, winning cosily from Sahpresa and British raider Timepiece.
The six-year-old will now bid to regain the Prix Jacques le Marois on August 15, having suffered an odds-on reverse in the race 12 months ago.
Pierre-Yves Bureau, racing manager to owners the Wertheimer brothers, said: “There is not much more to say about her – she is fantastic.
“They went quite quickly and the time of the race was quite good. It was good to see that she relaxed at the end of the race.
“The three Group One winners were first second and third and it was a clear race, I think. The pacemaker (Flash Dance) did a good job.
“I’ve spoken to Freddie this morning and everything looks to be fine with her, so hopefully she will be back at Deauville for the big race in two weeks’ time.
“The Breeders’ Cup is always in the mind of everyone close to the horse, but the next big step is the Marois.
“If she can stay at the same level that would be nice.”
