Alan Jarvis lent his full support to Kieren Fallon’s challenge for a seventh jockeys’ title after the pair combined to good effect at Goodwood.
The Buckinghamshire trainer has long been a supporter of the Irishman, and the rider rewarded him with one of his typically powerful efforts aboard 9-4 favourite Ellie In The Pink in the Philip Osborn 60th Birthday Stakes.
The gap between Fallon and championship leader Paul Hanagan is still in double figures, but Jarvis insisted: “Kieren’s got so much confidence, he’s on a high and he’s seeing everything happen.
“I think he’ll win the title. It would mean a lot to him to get it back.
“I actually backed him to win it after Ryan Moore’s injury.
“This is a tough filly. I entered her for Epsom on Tuesday and she has just sneaked in, so she could run depending how she is.”
