Enbihaar has capped a big week for her sire Redoute’s Choice with her wide-margin victory in the Group Two Lillie Langtry Stakes at Goodwood.
A few days earlier, Danceteria gave the late Redoute’s Choice a first Group One win in Europe with his success in the Grosser Dallmayr-Preis to stamp himself a 2019 Cox Plate contender
Jim Crowley was further back than he wanted to be initially on the John Gosden-trained Enbihaar after missing the start in the 2800m-race on Saturday (Sunday AEST).
But as soon as Enbihaar took over from Pilaster with two furlongs (400m), the race was over.
A new Group One race on the Arc program in October could be a goal.
“I was really impressed with her. I’m a real fan of this filly,” owner Sheikh Hamdan al Maktoum’s racing manager Angus Gold, said.
“She was quite hot and fizzy as a two-year-old, but she has absolutely settled down now and loves her work. She stays surprisingly well for a Redoute’s Choice, and she handles this fast ground. It was a really good performance with a penalty.
“She’s got a magnificent stride on her, and she must be about 16.3 hands, but she was light-framed when we bought her and has just really developed. I’m delighted for Sheikh Hamdan, who kept her in training.”
Redoute’s Choice, who died at Arrowfield Stud in March, spent two seasons at the Aga Khan’s Haras de Bonneval in France.
