Arguably one of the best horses in the world will face a three month ban in Hong Kong after bleeding in the Hong Kong Gold Cup which adds question about his future.
Werther who was sent out as the favourite in the G1 Hong Kong Gold Cup on Sunday appeared to travel up quite easily to the eventual winner Time Warp although was unable to get the better of him before weakening into second has found to have bled during the race.
Bleeding in Hong Kong incurs the same suspension as Australia with the horse now unable to race for at least three months which has cast double over the horses future.

Sad to hear that Werther bled when finishing runner up to Time Warp in Hong Kong Gold Cup today. No announcement on future. @Racing
