Marco Botti is taking heart from the fact that Dream Ahead ran out a ready winner of the July Cup ahead of Excelebration’s next run.
The German Guineas winner finished behind Frankel on either side of that run in the Greenham and the St James’s Palace Stakes.
In the latter event, Excelebration finished ahead of Dream Ahead with Aidan O’Brien’s Zoffany just in front, although all were behind Frankel.
“He’s in very good nick and he goes to Goodwood for the Celebration Mile (August 27) and we’ll take it from there,” Botti said.
“For me he’s still improving and he’s not finished yet. He’s growing a bit more and for me, there’s a lot to come from him.
“I think he’s a Group One horse – if we avoid Frankel.
“The Ascot form is good. Dream Ahead was behind us and won the July Cup, although I know it was his first run, and Zoffany ran well in France next time.”
