Irish trainer Aidan O’Brien is one win away from equalling Bobby Frankel’s world record 25 Grade/Group One winners in a calendar year.
His next chance to join Frankel comes with Johannes Vermeer in Saturday’s $3 million Caulfield Cup (2400m) in Melbourne.
Johannes Vermeer is the favourite for the Caulfield Cup and will be racing a week after his second to Gailo Chop in the Group One Caulfield Stakes.
O’Brien’s attention will then turn to Champions Day at Ascot where he will field a strong team at the last major meeting for the season in Britain.
