7/5/2025 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Happy Valley

Nine races will be run and won at Happy Valley this Wednesday night, with good depth across the program.

1 Brave Of Friends (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has had a couple of runs at 1200m since a freshen up and is racing like the rise to the mile is ideal. He ran two weeks ago here where he got back to near last in the run but I really liked the way he closed off in defeat behind Winning Heart. I think the rise in trip suits and if within range, he has the finale to win.

6 Tattenham (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to have returned well and commands respect. He resumed on the Sha Tin dirt over this trip when off speed from the wide gate but did work home with purpose in a good return behind Meepmeep. Fitter, has run well at Happy Valley previously, hard to beat.

7 Super Treasure (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran midfield in the Meepmeep race mentioned above. He got off speed and was never really a factor, beaten several lengths. This isn’t a deep race, so he doesn’t need to be anything special to measure up.

3 Day Day Victory (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has found that winning feeling and he can go on with it. That win came three weeks ago at this track/distance when giving them a start and a beating, knuckling down with purpose late to score. Maps to get a sweet run in transit and be effective late.

4 Ragnarr (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has a tricky gate to overcome but to offset that, he does have early speed to use. He ran second in the race mentioned above, getting back in ther un but made up a stack of ground to run a narrow second. I think Bowman may press the button early in getting across and is dangerous.

7 Modest Gentleman (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has threatened to do damage in this Class of race but just hasn’t quite gone on with it. He ran down the track behind Day Day Victory in the same race. He got back off the speed and although not beaten far, he just couldn’t quite get involved. If he brings his best, he can win.

8 Management Folks (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top. He won at this track/distance three weeks ago, getting better as the race went on and loved the 2200m in scoring. He does tend to save his best for this track/distance and no reason why he can’t continue that here.

1 Can’t Go Wong (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after racing over 1800m here last Wednesday, getting off speed but worked home with purpose late in the piece behind Harmony Galaxy when a narrow second. Gives the indication of liking 2200m here and gets in well after the claim.

7 S J Tourbillon (Bet Now:  $SP.00) gives off the vibe of appreciating 2200m with recent racing being at 1800m. Latest run was here last Wednesday night and he was quite good late without threatening. He has run well at 2200m previously so he’s in with a shout.

4 Majestic Delight (Bet Now:  $SP.00) clearly on top for me. Three weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance. He got a fair way out of his ground but I really liked the way he finished his race off in defeat when third to Lucky Planet. Tick over trial was strong and this isn’t a deep contest.

9 Good Prospect (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is knocking on the door to break the maiden tag. He is several weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance. He got into a decent spot behind the speed and did try quite hard but couldn’t quite get there when second to Sovereign Fund. Racing well and commands respect.

3 Smart Fighter (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1200m after racing over the mile here on April 2, landing on speed and was a beaten horse on the turn, finishing down the track. Better suited at the sprint trip and prior efforts were more than sound.

10 Amazing Award (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the way I am leaning. He is three weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance where he got off speed and worked home well enough without threatening behind Ironical. Doesn’t have the best of racing patterns but if he’s within range, he will be hard to hold out.

8 Jubilant Winner (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is having his first look at Happy Valley but is a horse heading in the right direction. He ran over 1400m at Sha Tin last time when off speed and was an eye catcher late in the piece behind Top Dragon. Racing like the mile suits and despite the tricky gate, commands respect.

5 Flying Wrote (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a query at the mile but has a kind map to do no real work. He ran over 1200m here two weeks back where he got a decent enough run in transit and tried hard but just couldn’t quite finish the race. Not sure I could back him to win but one for exotics.

3 Loveisintheair (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has a tricky gate to overcome but looks a horse heading in the right direction and strikes race with not much depth. He ran over this track/distance on April 9 when off speed but kept finding the line in defeat when a close up third to Northern Fire Ball. If he can get a drag into the race, he takes beating.

2 Aurio (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an interesting runner. He hasn’t raced since April 6 over 1400m at Sha Tin when off speed and while he was never a winning threat, he was solid enough in defeat behind Brilliant Express. Tick over trial was strong and the depth here is nowhere near as deep.

8 Excellent Peers (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is several weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance when a fair way back in the run but was good late without threatening behind Sovereign Fund. Not sure he is a horse I could back to win but he can run top four.

4 Thesis (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has the finale to take this out. He is three weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance. He was back near last in the run but really liked the way he finished his race off in defeat behind Ironical. Gets a jockey upgrade and if he can settle closer in the run, he’ll take holding out.

1 Ivy League (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is several weeks between runs since attempting to lead throughout at this track/distance. He gave a good sight from the front but just couldn’t quite see it through and felt the pinch late. Dangerous if he gets front end control.

8 Gor Mo Tuen (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran over this track/distance last time where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he was solid late in the piece behind Top Time. Gets in well after the claim and is a threat if he can get a drag into the race.

10 Lucky Touch (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a little while between wins but I think that will change here. Very keen on his prospects. He is three weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance when dragged back from the wide gate but was good late when close up in defeat behind A Americ Te Specso. Purton on, a much better gate. he’s the one to beat, and clearly.

7 Highland Rahy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will land on the bunny and look to give his all. He ran second in the race mentioned above, attempting to lead throughout and he gave a strong kick from the front but couldn’t quite see it through when beaten narrowly. Good racing style and will look the winner for a fair chunk.

6 Charity Together (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a former Irish galloper that made his Hong Kong debut over this track/distance where he was raw and new to the caper it appeared, finishing down the track. He might need more time/racing but his Irish form does read quite well.

1 Superb Capitalist (Bet Now:  $SP.00) each way for me in the get out. He ran over this trip at Sha Tin a few weeks ago. He got back off the speed from the tricky gate and just couldn’t quite get involved when down the track behind Bottomuptogether. That form does read well and he has a real liking for Happy Valley.

9 Fatal Blow (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since winning over this track/distance, giving them a start and a beating, letting down with good change up speed to win and win well. The gate is tricky to overcome but he does look a horse heading in the right direction and is one of the key chances.

3 Beauty Infinity (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is one for exotics. He is two weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance when off speed and kept chasing with purpose in the straight in a good effort in defeat behind Power Koepp. Maps to get a sweet sit in transit and be effective at the end.

NEXT BEST: Race Six Number 3 Loveisintheair

LONG SHOT: Race Nine Number 1 Superb Capitalist
