1 Spice Bag (Bet Now: $8.50) looks the straight bat play. This colt debuted with a bang three weeks ago down the straight here over 1000m, giving them a start and a beating, and was quite strong to the line in getting the job done. He should be fine at 1200m and for mine is clearly the one to beat.

12 Rising World (Bet Now: $5.00) is a son of Nicconi on debut. He’s had a few trials to get ready for start one, the latest over 1050m here, running second and seemed to move quite well. Good lead is that Purton rode in that trial and he sticks for this.

9 Ever Wealth (Bet Now: $4.20) ran third to Spice Bag in the race mentioned above. He landed in front of the pack and gave a decent sight but the end of 1000m on debut just found him out late. Doubt he wins but he can run first four.

6 Double Alpha (Bet Now: $8.00) looks here to play on debut. Danny Shum trained son of Darci Brahma that went like a rocket in a recent trial win at Conghua, winning by a space and running good time. Drawn the right part of the track, will press forward and take running down.

10 Storm Mirror (Bet Now: $2.70) is a few weeks since a track/distance debut where he got back to near last in the run and did make up headway but was never threatening. That said, thought he was far from disgraced in defeat. Draws to stalk the speed and Purton takes over.

13 Jumbo Blessing (Bet Now: $7.00) comes back to 1000m after racing over 1200m at Sha Tin. He got into a decent spot but copped interference, which pretty much sealed his fate. Been hit and miss in his short career to date but I am not dismissing him.

1 Papaya Brose (Bet Now: $2.70) takes beating for Caspar Fownes. He resumed two weeks ago at this track/distance where he got off speed and worked to the line strongly in defeat behind Little Monster when fourth. Maps to settle much closer, be strong late and Moreira sticks.

4 Fun N Fun Together (Bet Now: $6.50) is a few weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance. He landed in a decent spot near the pace and was there to win but just lacked the finale to go with them late. Gets in well after the claim, he’s in the mix.

8 Speedy Power (Bet Now: $91.00) was down the track in the Little Monster race mentioned above. He did early work from the wide gate and the hard run just told on him late in the piece. If he can get luck from the gate this time around, he’s dangerous at odds.

5 Dancing Blaze (Bet Now: $4.80) looks the straight bat play here. Caspar Fownes trained three year old that debuted two weeks ago at this track/distance when getting into a decent spot near the speed and was there to win but just whacked late when fourth. Maps to get a sweet sit and should be better for the debut run.

7 Oldtown (Bet Now: $3.10) was a real eye catcher at this track/distance a fortnight back, getting a fair way out of his ground from the wide gate but loved the way he closed his race off in defeat. Has a gate to settle much closer and be effective late.

4 A Time For Us (Bet Now: $11.00) was down the track behind Little Monster in the race mentioned above. He got into a sticky spot from a wide gate and just whacked in the run to the line. Maps much better and should be strong late. Not dismissing.

Good test here for 13 King Dance (Bet Now: $8.00) but think he can measure up. He was impressive a this track/distance several weeks ago, giving them a start and a beating in a sharp effort. He’ll spot them a start but will motor late and I think can finish over the top.

10 Red Maestro (Bet Now: $4.20) is a few weeks between runs since racing over 1200m here. He got a couple of checks in the run and despite that, he kept chasing and finding the line in a pretty good effort in defeat. Tricky gate but like him up to 1400m and strikes a winnable race.

12 Target Audience (Bet Now: $21.00) ran over 1200m here a few weeks back and for mine, had his chance, but just lacked the killer finale behind Blazing Wind. Maps to do no work in the run and Moreira takes over. Dangerous.

Landed with 6 Super Goldendragon (Bet Now: $5.50). He ran over 1800m here two weeks ago when coming back from 2000m and kept finding the line in a really good effort in defeat when second. Like him back up to 2000m, he’s one of the hardest to beat.

1 Charity Together (Bet Now: $27.00) is in the mix. He ran several weeks ago over 1800m here, getting back to near last in the run but was good late in the piece I thought. Back up in trip, he’ll spot them a start but be strong at the end.

10 Ocean Impact (Bet Now: $11.00) comes back to 2000m after racing over 2200m at Happy Valley when just off speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite finish the job when fourth to Super Goldendragon. Not sure I could back to win but is one for exotics.

7 Sky Jewellery (Bet Now: $2.05) looks the next in line re the next top class horse in Hong Kong. Blessed with so much talent but injury has hurt his trajectory. He’s come back this time in with a couple of electric wins, being so impressive that he’s earned a look at Stakes grade. A win here, which I think he will, then they can start thinking of the Hong Kong Mile.

6 Winning Ovation (Bet Now: $2.00) is the key threat. He has won three of four this prep, the latest over 1400m here when sitting on speed and trucking before being clicked up and away he went to win and win well. Purton on, kind map, he commands respect.

5 Light Years Charm (Bet Now: $41.00) finished down the track behind Winning Ovation in that race mentioned above. He got dragged back from the wide gate and was never really a factor. Maps to settle much closer and is one for exotics.

2 Invictus Dragon (Bet Now: $4.80) has got the win on the board and he can go on with it. That win came three weeks ago over this track/distance, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive effort. Purton rode on that occasion and the big tick is that he sticks here. Keen.

1 Circuit Fiery (Bet Now: $13.00) attempted to lead throughout at this track/distance four weeks ago and gave a strong kick from the front but just couldn’t quite see it through when second to Flying Knight. Wide draw but will press forward and take beating.

5 Superb Kid (Bet Now: $41.00) comes back to 1400m after racing over the mile three weeks back. He got dragged back to last from the wide gate and was never really a factor behind Bling Bling Genius. Like him back in trip…could run first four.

I think class gets 1 Raging Blizzard (Bet Now: $8.50) home. There’s no Ka Ying Rising, no Helios Express…he’s the third in line for sprinters and his recent efforts behind the champ have been super. Couple of strong trials under the belt since last run, he’s a clear top seed for me.

3 Tomodachi Kokoroe (Bet Now: $14.00) is the interesting runner. He looked as though he would challenge Helios Express as the next best sprinter but the wheels have fallen off the last six months, the latest run seeing him ridden upside down in the Chairmans Sprint when down the track. Tick over trial last week was encouraging, he’s dangerous with his best.

4 Lucky With You (Bet Now: $6.50) ran over this track/distance three weeks back behind Patch Of Stars. He got back to near last in the run and while he was never threatening, he kept chasing and finding the line in a pretty good effort in defeat. Maps to settle closer, he is a must include in exotics.

I think 3 Endued (Bet Now: $3.80) is a safe play here despite the draw. Thought he was very good three weeks ago at this track/distance, getting back to near last in the run and working to the line strongly in defeat when third. If he can get a drag into the race, he’ll be dangerous to hold out.

5 Amazing Partners (Bet Now: $5.50) ran second in the race mentioned above. He got into a decent spot just off speed and presented to win I thought but just lacked the finale to get the job done. Tricky draw but has to be given serious respect.

10 Goldfield (Bet Now: $21.00) is a very interesting runner. Former Brazilian galloper that makes his Hong Kong debut for Danny Shum. He did nice things when racing over there and looks to have trialled up well enough for the debut here. Watch the market.

5 Young Emperor (Bet Now: $31.00) each way in the last. He ran over this track/distance four weeks ago where he got a fair way off speed and while he was never a winning threat, I didn’t mind the way he finished his race off in defeat. If he can get a drag into the race, I think he can launch and finish over the top at odds.

3 Gold Patch (Bet Now: $21.00) ran third at this track/distance three weeks ago. He landed in front and for mine, he did have his chance, but just lacked the killer finale. Think with a bunny to chase, he’ll be far more effective.

12 Thousand Spirit (Bet Now: $23.00) was a bit on the plain side at this track/distance last time, getting just off speed and whacked in the run to the line without really threatening. Not sure he is a horse I could back to win but he is good enough to run first four.

BEST BET: Race Eight Number 2 Invictus Dragon

NEXT BEST: Race Nine Number 1 Raging Blizzard

LONG SHOT: Race Eleven Number 5 Young Emperor
