9 Lucrative Eight (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should take beating here at start two. Debuted three weeks ago at this track/distance when just off speed and kept chasing in a good effort when third. Better for the run and gets a big rider upgrade. Happy to be in his corner.

5 The Heir (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is bursting to win. He ran last Wednesday night at Happy Valley when off speed and chased with purpose in the straight in a good effort in defeat behind World Hero. Maps ideally and Moreira sticks.

11 Prestige Hall (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran last Wednesday night at Happy Valley as well, albeit in a different race. He got back to near last in the run and was good late in the piece without threatening. Like him on the bigger track, he’s dangerous.

6 Big Return (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has found winning form and he can go on with it. Three weeks between runs since a track/distance win, giving them a start and a beating in an electric performance. Maps to settle much closer in the run and be effective late. He’ll do me.

7 Jolly Brilliant (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to the mile after racing over 1400m here on March 22. He got off speed and worked to the line well enough in defeat when third. If he can settle closer and be within range, he’ll take holding out.

8 Amazing Award (Bet Now:  $SP.00) lands on speed and will only run well, as seen over the mile at Happy Valley last time. He landed near the front and tried hard but just felt the pinch late in the piece. Not sure he wins, but can run first four.

No reason why 1 Absolute Heart (Bet Now:  $SP.00) can’t make it 2/2 to start his career. His debut win was on March 22 at this track/distance, leading throughout and gave nothing else a look in to win impressively. Tick over trial was sharp, good racing style, kind draw…top seed for me.

2 Mr Incredible (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been pretty solid in two career runs. Strong debut winner before a sixth three weeks ago. He got into a decent spot just off speed and tried hard but just felt the pinch late. Maps ideally, he’ll be around the mark.

5 Oldtown (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Territories that resumes for Mark Newnham. He has been hit and miss throughout his career but looks to have trialled up really well for the return and stable is flying so watch the market.

5 King Dance (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here with fresh legs, four weeks between runs since a track/distance win when giving them a start and a beating in an impressive effort. Tick over trial last week was pretty good and although he’ll spot them a start, he can really launch late.

7 Warriors Dream (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1400m after racing over 1200m here four weeks ago. He did early work to land near the speed and tried hard but just felt the pinch late. If he gets an economical run in transit, he’s dangerous.

2 Joltin (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an interesting runner for David Hayes. Several weeks between runs since racing over the mile on the dirt here. He was back near last in the run and made up minimal headway behind Loch Tay. Tricky gate but gets the claim and is suited back to 1400m.

1 Ka Ying Rising (Bet Now:  $SP.00)…is there anything really to be said? Best sprinter in the world, can make claims he is the best horse in the world…the Sprint Cup win was something else…just…how do they get near him? Enjoy greatness.

$2+ was available for 3 Helios Express (Bet Now:  $SP.00) to run top three and that has proven to be the ultimate bet because he has placed behind Ka Ying Rising on over 10 occasions, including the Sprint Cup last time. He won’t run but is a lock to run second/third.

2 Satono Reve (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was a dynamic winner at Group l level in Japan four weeks ago, giving them a start and a beating in an electric performance. The gate means he’ll go back to near last and will work home well without winning.

4 Geneva (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is bursting to win. He ran four weeks ago at this track/distance when off speed and held up at times but when clear, he worked home with real purpose I thought. He’s done really well in both runs back and should take beating against these.

6 Lifeline Express (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is five weeks between runs since racing at this track/disatnce. He landed off speed and worked home well enough but did seemingly have his chance. Tick over trial last week was solid and maps to get a sweet run in transit.

3 Celestial Hero (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes to Sha Tin after racing over this trip at Happy Valley when back near last in the run and was never really a winning threat. Maps to settle much closer in the run and will be strong late.

The gate has crueled him badly but if he brings his best, I am convinced that 2 Voyage Bubble (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will run a beauty here. Thought he did a really good job in the Chairmans Trophy but gave them weight and just lacked the killer blow. Back to set weights, Blinkers on to sharpen him up…just needs luck from the draw.

1 Jantar Mantar (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a star from Japan who could easily blow this field away if he brings his best. Just a matter of where he is at but from all reports, he has been working well in readiness and maps to get a sweet run in transit.

3 Docklands (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an underrated globe trotter from the UK for Harry Eustace that comes here off the back of a first up win at Doncaster, getting better as the race went on in scoring. Maps to do no work, he’s a knockout hope.

7 The Red Hare (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has a tricky gate to overcome but hard to knock the way he’s racing at present. He ran over this track/distance three weeks ago where he got into a decent spot just off speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite get there when third to impressive winner Mighty Masts. No horse of that quality here, he appeals.

1 Helen Supafeeling (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1400m after racing over 1200m here on March 15. He was back near last in the run but didn’t mind the way he finished his race off in defeat. Like him up in trip, J Mac on and maps to settle much closer.

11 California Waves (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran over this track/distance four weeks back. He was off speed and made up headway but was never really a winning threat. If he can settle closer and be within range, his finale is good enough to be dangerous.

2 Romantic Warrior (Bet Now:  $SP.00) still has the mantle as the best horse in Hong Kong for mine despite what Ka Ying Rising has been doing. This guy is a champion and an all time great, not just of Hong Kong racing but world racing. Arrogant Hong Kong Gold Cup triumph, tick over trial was strong…he’s the one to beat, and clearly.

1 Masquerade Ball (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a world class horse in his own right and pushed Calandagan all the way in the Japan Cup last year, just missing out on the win in an epic. He’s the best horse that Romantic Warrior has faced in Hong Kong and it shapes to be an epic race. He’ll more than hold his own.

8 Numbers (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been freshened up since a second in the Derby. He attempted to lead throughout and gave a decent sight but just had no answers for the finale of Invincible Ibis. He’ll run a good race…doubt he wins but can run first four.

5 Lovero (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the way I am leaning. He ran over this track/distance four weeks ago when back near last in the run and was good late without threatening. If he can get three wide cover, a drag into the race, he can launch over the top.

9 The Golden Knight (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is four weeks between runs since making it two on the bounce at this track/distance, the latest seeing him just get there in a driving go. Harder here but hard to knock the way he’s racing.

2 Windlord (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was heading down the Derby path but failed in the Classic Cup. His two subsequent runs haven’t been too bad, the latest being two weeks back. Maps to do no work…can see him running first four at a price.

13 Juneau Pride (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a good each way gamble to close out the program. He has been freshened up since the Hong Kong Derby where he ran a very honest race but just couldn’t quite see out the 2000m. Back to 1400m I like, can settle near the speed and be effective late.

11 Salon S (Bet Now:  $SP.00)…just how good is he? 4/4 to start his career, the latest being four weeks ago when leading throughout and was comfortable in scoring. Tick over trial last week was strong, good racing style, he appeals.

7 Infinite Resolve (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is five weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance when just off speed and seemingly had his chance, just whacking late. Not sure he is good enough to win but can run first four.

BEST BET: Race Nine Number 2 Romantic Warrior

NEXT BEST: Race Three Number 1 Absolute Heart

LONG SHOT: Race Eleven Number 13 Juneau Pride
