8 Squealer (Bet Now:  $SP.00) each way for me in the opener. He ran over this trip at Pontefract last time when off speed and kept chasing in a good effort in defeat when fourth in a field of five, beaten a couple of lengths. Run prior at this track/distance was strong, he’ll spot them a start but be strong late.

3 Vintage Clarets (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes through the Shergar Cup meeting at Ascot where he got a 12/10 ride by Hugh Bowman and finished best after settling off speed. Drawn to get good cover and off last start, he’s one of the leading contenders.

20 Copper Knight (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is right down in the weights and is in with a shout. He ran last week at Haydock where he got into a decent spot near the speed and tried hard but just lacked the finale to get the job done. Not sure he wins, but right down in the weights, he is a first four contender.

4 Italy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the way I am leaning. He has been strong in two career outings, winning on debut at Leopardstown before going to Newmarket and the Superlative where he kept chasing but had no answers late for Saba Desert. Hard experience under the belt, strong late, stable flying…like him.

1 Distant Storm (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since a July 11 debut win at Newmarket when near the speed and what I liked is that when the race was there to be won, he dug in late to fend them off. Confident he measures up.

3 Goodwood Galaxy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has done little wrong in two starts. Strong debut winner at Salisbury before going to the Vintage at Goodwood where he was tardy away and kept chasing in a pretty good effort in defeat when fourth. Clean jump, he can threaten.

1 Lambourn (Bet Now:  $SP.00) picks himself. Star animal for Aidan O’Brien that has won the English and Irish Derbies his past two, each time being on speed and found under pressure to score. This race looks not too difficult if he holds his form and yes, he’s on the short side, but he should be too good.

2 Carmers… (Bet Now:  $SP.00) beware the unbeaten horse. 4/4 to start his career, the latest coming over 2800m at Ascot where he got into a decent spot near the speed and was strong to the line. If some of these, especially the favourite, is tiring late, this guy should be strong at the end.

3 Pride Of Arra (Bet Now:  $SP.00) won his opening two career starts, the second win coming here. He then finished well and truly down the track behind Lambourn at Epsom and Curragh. Not sure there is enough there to say he turns the tables, but can run top four with his best.

2 Danon Decile (Bet Now:  $SP.00) for me and I am a bit surprised he isn’t closer to favourite. He hasn’t raced since the Sheema Classic at Meydan, proving strongest to the line over 2400m, so the 2000m here should be fine, he’ll be strong late, he has class, runs on the board and you always have to respect the Japanese.

3 Ombudsman (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to be respected. He was such an impressive winner of the Prince Of Wales at Royal Ascot before going to the Eclipse at Sandown where he seemingly had his chance but was still close up in defeat to Delacroix. Off the Ascot, he shoule be favourite.

4 See The Fire (Bet Now:  $SP.00) won at this track/distance earlier in the career and has been strong throughout. Track was too testing in the Nassau at Goodwood but she stayed on and was sound in defeat in a forgive behind Whirl. Her best is good enough to threaten.

13 Terrorise (Bet Now:  $SP.00) each way for me. I loved his last start track/distance win where he gave them a start and a beating, getting better as the race went on. He has been a capable jumper so the staying prowess is there, he’s right down in the weights…for mine, he only runs well.

9 Fireblade (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here as a last start winner at Ascot at the Shergar Cup meeting. He was keen in the run but was trucking at various stages before being clicked up and was strong to the line in getting the job done. Confident he measures up.

7 Spirit Mixer (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran fifth in the race mentioned above from Ascot. He got off speed and seemed to have his chance but battled away pretty well in defeat without threatening. Not sure he can turn the tables but can fill a first four spot.

Waddle the finger and hope for the best. Throw at the stumps via 20 Eternal Sunshine (Bet Now:  $SP.00). On the seven day back up after racing over 1200m last Wednesday at Hamilton when on speed throughout and she tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through when second. Like her back to 1000m, good racign style and only has 48kg on her back.

4 Ruby’s Profit (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here off the back of a strong effort during the Goodwood Carnival. She raced over this trip when on speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite get there when third to Getreadytorumble. Drawn well, she’s in the mix.

5 Queen’s Guard (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1000m after racing over 1200m at Wolverhampton last time when leading and she sat on speed throughout and tried hard but just felt the pinch the last furlong behind Stormy Impact. Good racing style for the short course, she’s dangerous.

20 Dublin Bay (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top in the get out. This juvenile is a few weeks between runs since a win over this trip at Doncaster when on speed throughout and was trucking before being clicked up and away he went to win and win well. Tumbles in weight, good racing style, he takes beating.

6 Shaman Champion (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a leading contender after placing over this trip during Goodwood when near the speed throughout and she tried hard but just lacked the finale to go with them late in the piece when a narrow second. Ryan Moore takes over, he has to be respected.

3 Amorim (Bet Now:  $SP.00) lands on speed and is dangerous after racing over this trip at Newbury when on speed and gave a strong kick when asked for the effort but just felt the pinch late when third Wise Approach. Good racing style, drawn the right part of the track, he’s in the mix.

NEXT BEST: Race Three Number 1 Lambourn

LONG SHOT: Race Six Number 20 Eternal Sunshine
