Zoustar and Capitalist will go down to the wire in the race for Australia’s individual winners premiership, with the leading stallions deadlocked heading into the final day of the 2025/26 racing season.
Neither sire added to their tally on Thursday, leaving both with 169 individual winners for the season, three clear of Swettenham Stud stallion Toronado, who sits on 166.
Friday’s meetings at Wangaratta, Geelong and Port Macquarie will determine which stallion finishes on top of the standings.
Reigning Australian champion sire Zoustar, who stands at Widden Stud, will be represented by Isn’t She Gorgeous in race three at Geelong and Shezous in the opening event at Wangaratta.
Capitalist, who stands at Newgate Farm, has a stronger hand on the final day, with Miss Trump engaged in the opener at Port Macquarie, Designer Style accepted for race two at Wangaratta and El Dudar set to contest race four at Geelong.
With just one day remaining in the season, the battle between two of Australia’s leading commercial stallions promises to provide a fitting finish to another closely fought premiership.
