Two ownership stakes in standout filly Within The Law will go under the hammer unreserved in a digital sale that opens for bidding tomorrow (Friday) and closes on Wednesday.
The 6.5% and 5% parcels offer buyers a chance to join the Bjorn Baker-trained star, already a Group 2 winner, Group 1 placed, and an earner of almost $1.7 million.
Currently spelling, Within The Law will return to Baker’s stable to be targeted at Group 1 features during the upcoming autumn carnival.
“She’s done a remarkable job,” trainer Bjorn Baker said. “She’s got a real will to win and she’s remarkably tough.”
“She has competed against the best. Whether that is as a two-year-old or now the best three-year-olds – she’s always run well.”
“She’s twice Group One placed so we are only going to be aiming at Group races (in the Autumn),” Baker added. “I’d love to win a Group One with her.”
Proven at 1000m and 1200m, the filly has also finished runner-up twice at 1600m at Group 1 level, underscoring her versatility and depth.
“These shares offer a rare opportunity to buy into a genuine Group One filly who already has significant residual value,” Head of Digital Bryce Bevan said.
“Within The Law had six starts during the Spring Carnival, three of those were at Group One level, the other three being at Group Two, highlighting the calibre of race filly we are dealing with.”
“Whoever purchases these unreserved shares will be buying the opportunity to be a part of a very exciting story with a great set of existing connections,” Bevan added.
The 57-lot catalogue also features Gioia River, a full sister to recent Group 1 VRC Oaks placegetter After Summer, along with 17 Bennett Racing (As Agent) shares in racehorses.
Bennett Racing’s offerings include shares in Extreme Diamond, Texas Tea, Broadbeach Miss, and Lexy Rose. Additional entries span yearlings, untried two-year-olds, and three-year-olds from the Celestial Thoroughbreds draft in Western Australia.
