In honouring the deeds of ‘stallion maker’ Gerald Ryan Peltzer made it three wins in succession as a 3YO, in winning from 1200m to 1600m, and on good, soft and heavy rated surfaces.
Firstly, he scored a half-length victory over the $2m Inglis Millennium winner Prime Star in the Gr2 Eskimo Prince Stakes of 1500m at Royal Randwick, running 1-28.11sec. on a Good 4 track.
Next up, it was a 2.8 length win, again over Prime Star in the $1m Bondi Stakes of 1600m on a Heavy 8 track at Randwick, with Sterling Alexiou also in the training partnership.
Following a spell, Peltzer accounted for both Prague and North Pacific in the Gr3 Stan Fox Stakes of 1200m on a Soft 5, before retiring with 6 wins from 13 starts and over $1million in stakes.
Unbeaten in all three starts at two, Peltser had the highest Timeform rating of any juvenile sired by So You Think, and on debut defeated the subsequent Group winner Anders over 1000m.
In his next two starts at Randwick he first scored a 1.8 length victory at 1200m on a Soft 5 rated track, followed by a commanding 4 length win at 1300m on a Heavy 8 surface.
A $260,000 graduate of the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, he was the highest priced colt of his sire So You Think that 2019 sale, and is a grandson of the influential High Chapparal.
As one of Australia’s greatest ever racehorses So You Think is emerging as one of Australia’s great stallions, being from the emerging powerful sire line of Toronado, Dundeel, Contributer.
Descending from the Aga Khan family of French Champion Shawanda, Peltzer is from the 1400m winner Miss Otto, a daughter of Elusive Quality the same broodmare sire of Deep Field.
