Champion mare Winx’s little sister Courchevel has begun her training with trainer Ciaron Maher in Victoria.
The daughter of Snitzel is the first filly thrown by Vegas Showgirl since Winx and is a full sister to deceased Group 3 winner El Divino and the un-raced Boulder City who has gone to stud without racing.
Ciaron Maher in an interview with Racing.com explained how the two year old filly came into his stable.
“Over the last six months I’ve had a bit of time on my hands, I drove up to the Magic Millions Yearling sale and I came back through Segenhoe in the Hunter Valley.
“I’d seen all of John Camilleri’s horses about three times in the past six months, so I asked him if I was able to train her,” explained Maher.
"It's an honour for everyone to have her here…hopefully she's got half the ability."
