Willie Pike to ride all ten favourites at Ascot

Willie Pike’s dominance among the riding ranks in Western Australia represents a long standing, and continuing state of play in that state.

Normally there are no surprises in that regard, but this Saturday could produce a very special day, even judged by Pike’s standard high level of achievement.

On Saturday at Ascot, Pike has a full book of rides over the ten race card, and he has been booked to partner ten out of ten race favourites.

“I always get a lot of nice rides, so it is not a surprise to hear that,” said Pike, talking to Racing WA.

“The most winners I’ve ridden in a calendar day is six, so I hope I can outdo that.”

Pikes shortest priced runner on Saturday is the bookies $1.75 chance Wonderfully Made in race four. His longest priced runner comes right at the start of the day in race one where he will partner Afireofgidgeecoals, who is currently quoted at $3.80.
