Trained by Liam Howley, Yahoo Bar secured an impressive victory at Sandown over 1400 meters, making it two sharp maiden winners for the stable in two days.
The son of Toronado showed promise on debut at Seymour, narrowly missing victory while beating subsequent winner Tallis Drive.
Starting as the betting sites $2.10 favourite at Sandown, Yahoo Bar lived up to expectations. Jockey Blake McDougall positioned the gelding one off the fence with cover before making a strong move in the straight.
Although it took some time for Yahoo Bar to respond, once he did, he extended his lead comfortably under soft riding.
Liam Howley was confident about Yahoo Bar’s performance despite heavy rainfall earlier in the day, expressing satisfaction with the gelding’s impressive win.
While Howley hasn’t made specific future plans for Yahoo Bar, he believes the horse has a bright racing future and will “let the dust settle” before deciding on the next steps.
