The semaphore board briefly showed an incorrect result, listing horse No.1 in both first and second place, while the displayed race time was also wrong.
After a delay, the course announcer then declared Lady Billie the winner, adding further uncertainty to the outcome.
Adding to the farce, Anna Roper was interviewed after Lady Billie was initially declared the winner β admitting she thought sheβd actually lost.
After a lengthy delay of around ten minutes, stewards reviewed the finish and officially amended the result to a dead heat.
The unusual sequence of events left many punters scratching their heads.
