The $40 000 Broome Sprint looked to be a shoe-in for the Susan Olive trained Now You See Me and that perception turned into a harsh reality for the four-year-old’s eight rivals who Now You See Me absolutely destroyed in a run home that saw the son of All Too Hard cross the line a full 9.14 lengths clear of the runner-up.
“He’s going to win the Tabtouch Broome Sprint in a canter, and he goes down to the line to make it five straight. That was a blitzkrieg,” said commentator Darren McAullay, summing up the one horse race perfectly.

In landing this win Now You See Me (the $1.80 betting sites favourite, in from $2.10) extended his winning sequence to five straight wins, which have come by a combined total of 23.30 lengths, and he also maintained his unbeaten status at Broome where he now boasts four wins from four starts at the track.
Overall, the Olive trained runner has won five of his fourteen career starts and apprentice Jefferson Tsang, who has been in the saddle in all of those victories, has yet to be beaten on the gelding.
Hell I Am, a $15 chance, claimed second spot and Bon’s Your Back, the $9 third favourite came home in third place 10.26 lengths behind the winner.
The second favourite Cruise To Victory ($3.80) finished fourth, 13.05 lengths adrift of Now You See Me.
Other results on Ladies Day at Broome saw Jody McLaughlan claim a training double with The Top Bar ($2.05) and Rulesque ($4.40), while apprentice jockeys Tiana Murray and Jefferson Tsang shared the riding honours with two winners apiece.
The Ladies Day meeting was a lead-in to Broome Cup which takes place on Saturday.
