Here’s the new leader in Biggest Certainty Beaten This Year.
Yes I know, I claimed that about 6 weeks back….and to be fair despite some criticism from others who saw it differently, she did come out and win a heat of the prestigious Provincial Championships after that and will run in the final in a fortnight.
But this bloke JODHPUR below….wow.
He is in the green jacket, back in the ruck, but when they turn for home, you’ll see him. He all but knocks Il Professionale over.
Matty Cahill rode him and he got time for his aggressiveness.
Rightly so as his desperation to win crossed the line. But he was placed in a precarious position. Anyway….aren’t we thankful that we have Category 1 racing rules in this country.
The US and Canada both labour still under Category 2 rules and Jodhpur would have been DQ and placed last had this race been over there. Which proves the point, the rule needs to be changed to fall in line with the rest of the world who also race under Cat 1 rules.
Some people, like me, will question why Il Professionale, who was gone at the time, tried to keep Jodhpur in the pocket behind the ones in front of him? Cahill on Jodhpur clearly was travelling and very easily could have clipped heels.
Blaike McDougall on the tiring horse should have let him out in my view.
Anyway, Tim Donnelly trains Jodhpur and this was a BM 58 at Wagga over 1200m.
The horse is just as capable up to 1800m at BM 58 to 64 level.
Get on him for all you can afford next start.
Oh, and Matty Cahill is out until 19 April for the ride.
