Ciaron Maher’s exciting youngster In’kantosstar has stamped himself as a horse to follow after a dominant maiden victory at Ballarat, with jockey Ethan Brown confident the full brother to Jimmysstar has a bright future.
The son of Per Incanto produced a commanding display over 1200 metres, charging down the centre of the track to score by almost three lengths despite showing plenty of inexperience.

Brown stopped short of comparing the colt to his accomplished sibling but believes In’kantosstar has the talent to quickly rise through the grades.
“He is a very nice horse,” Brown told Racing.com after the win.
“He is very green.
“He didn’t really get out of first gear, I don’t think, once he hit the front.
“He pricked his ears and waited.
“He has got a lot to learn, but has a lot of ability.”
Raced by several of Jimmysstar’s owners in the same colours, In’kantosstar is also prepared by Ciaron Maher and partnered by Brown, making for a familiar winning combination.
There was one anxious moment before the race when the colt dislodged Brown while being loaded into the barriers, but the incident had little impact on his performance.
Starting a dominant $1.24 favourite with betting sites, In’kantosstar justified the strong market support with an authoritative display that suggested metropolitan racing is well within reach.
