Admire Terra has booked a spot in the 2025 Caulfield Cup after claiming victory in the Group 2 Meguro Kinen on Japanese Derby Day in Tokyo.
The win secures the Japanese mare a ballot exemption for the October 18 Group 1 classic.
Trained by Yasuo Tomomichi and owned by Junko Kondo, Admire Terra impressed over the 2500m trip, edging out rivals by a neck with Yutaka Take in the saddle.
Her success could see a return to Australia for Kondo, who famously campaigned Admire Rakti to Caulfield Cup glory in 2014.
Admire Terra is by Rey De Oro out of Admire Miyabi and continues her rise among Japan’s elite stayers.
Earlier this year, she also claimed the Osaka-Hamburg Cup, further underlining her credentials.
Her latest victory keeps the Kondo family’s Spring Carnival ambitions well and truly alive.
