The form from the Quokka will come under the spotlight in Saturday’s Group 1 Goodwood, as two sprinters from Western Australia look to make their presence felt in Adelaide’s premier sprint event.
Trainer Simon Miller has confirmed that Generosity, who finished in the placings in the Quokka, will travel from Perth to Melbourne on Monday before continuing on to Adelaide via an eight-hour float journey.
Generosity has established herself as a promising sprinter this autumn, adding a Listed 1400m win to her resume along with strong showings in the Group 3 Roma Cup (1100m) and the $4 million Quokka, where she flashed home from the back of the pack to grab third at odds of $51 with online betting sites.
Miller confirmed that regular rider Lucy Fiore will maintain her partnership with the mare in Adelaide.
“She came through the Quokka in great order,” Miller said.
“All going well, she’ll fly over to Melbourne on Monday then head to Adelaide from there.
“Lucy will stick with her and she gets in with 52.5kg.”
Another Western Australian hope, The Boss Lady from the Michael Lane stable, is also set to contest the $1 million sprint. She claimed victory in the Roma Cup before finishing sixth in the Quokka.
Giga Kick currently tops the market at $2 with swiftbet, while Generosity is priced at $21 and The Boss Lady sits at $26, offering value for punters looking for an each-way option.
