In an exciting development for the Victorian racing community, a groundbreaking initiative known as the Ladbrokes Owners Incentive Scheme is set to reward maiden winners with an additional $2000 bonus payment.
The innovative scheme, launching on September 1, 2023, is poised to inject up to $9 million in bonuses into Victorian horse racing over the next three years.
Open to registered thoroughbred owners, the program aims to encourage participation and celebrate the accomplishment of winning a maiden flat race.
Owners who secure victory will receive the bonus payment, with the amount prorated based on their ownership stake in the horse. Notably, eligibility for this bonus does not hinge on possessing a Ladbrokes wagering account.
According to Matt Welsh, RV Executive General Manager – Racing, the Ladbrokes Owners Incentive Scheme is a commendable endeavor to reward those who contribute to the vibrant racing industry.
“Owners are essential to a vibrant racing industry, and this incentive scheme is another great way to reward those supporting Victorian racing,” Welsh stated.
Dean Shannon, CEO of Entain Group Australia, emphasized the significance of this initiative in acknowledging the thrill of achieving a horse’s first victory.
“Just getting to the track and getting that first win on the board is a thrilling experience, be that in town or in the bush,” Shannon expressed.
Winning owners of country maiden races stand to receive an enhanced first prize of $16,850, effectively elevating the value of their victory to that of a $30,600 race, further motivating participation across the racing community.
To be eligible for the bonus, individual owners or syndicate managers need to register themselves and their maiden horse(s) via the Ladbrokes website prior to their maiden win.
With this innovative Ladbrokes Owners Incentive Scheme, Victorian racing celebrates not only the top achievers but also recognizes the significant milestones achieved by maiden winners in the exhilarating world of horse racing.
