As one of Victoria’s premier apprentices, Georgina Cartwright, dismounted at Casterton yesterday, she had a bit of a nostalgic look around at the place.
And she smiled too.
She had just ridden yet another winner, PINTOFF (Toorak Toff-Pinsahoy) to an impressive debut victory.
But that may be the last time she gets to ride him.
Today, she headed into the now mandatory norm of a 2-weeks hotel quarantine because she is going to continue her career in Queensland.
Cartwright, who can claim 2kg in the city, will leave her quarantine and head straight to the all-powerful Tony Gollan stable for a few months.
Gollan has a lot of horses so as stable apprentice she will get an enormous opportunity to shine and hone her already impressive skills.
Cartwright has ridden three winners, including two in town, from her past 28 rides.
