This breeding season, The Oaks Stud will be adding The Chosen One to their revitalised stallion roster.
Joining the likes of Champion European Two-year-old and Champion Sprinter U S Navy Flag and reputable Classic sire Roc de Cambes at the Cambridge farm, The Chosen One comes as a welcome addition, especially with the retirement of stalwart Darci Brahma last month.
Rick Williams, General Manager of The Oaks Stud, voiced his excitement, “Weβre really excited to be standing The Chosen One this season. He has all the credentials to be a success at stud, heβs a Group One winner over a mile and multiple group race winner on both sides of the Tasman and heβs very well bred.”
Ranked highly with a peak Timeform rating of 118, The Chosen One stands out as the best-performing offspring of distinguished stallion Savabeel to enter stud.
Under the guidance of celebrated trainers Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman, The Chosen One displayed remarkable tenacity, versatility, and durability on the racetrack. He boasts an impressive resume with wins in the Listed Zacinto Stakes, Gr.3 Manawatu Classic, Gr.3 Frank Packer Plate, and Gr.2 Herbert Power Stakes, among others.
His final season marked his most fruitful, with a win in the Gr.1 Thorndon Mile and strong performances in various other high-stakes races. The Chosen One retired with over $2.7 million in stakes and three Champion New Zealand Stayer titles to his name.
Hailing from a lineage nurtured for generations by the Dennis Brothers, The Chosen One is the offspring of the successful Flying Spur mare, The Glitzy One. His family includes Champion Filly The Jewel and Group One winners La Diosa and The Perfect Pink.
This season, The Chosen One will stand for $4,000 +GST, with breeding rights also available at $10,000 +GST. These rights encompass two nominations for the subsequent three years and one for each year thereafter.
