Group One winner Streets Of Avalon has taken out the Australia Stakes at The Valley on Friday night.
The Shane Nichols trained Streets Of Avalon was able to get the better of his two main rivals Viridine and Tavisan in the feature at Moonee Valley on Friday night.
Streets Of Avalon was sent out as the $5 equal second favourite with Sportsbet and was given a perfect ride by jockey Zac Spain camping just off the leader Tavisan before making a move heading into the straight, putting a gap on odds on favourite Viridine who wasn’t able to bridge the gap.
The Group One Futurity Stakes winner was unable to win during his Spring campaign but looks to be on track for an improved Autumn having not won first up throughout his 52 start career.
Nichols plans to target his start galloper at another Futurity Stakes where he is a $10 chance with the TAB.
