Chris Waller has withdrawn two notable runners from Day 2 of The Championships at Randwick, reshaping the key Group 1 contests.
Star mare Aeliana will not take her place in the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m), a race where her unbeaten stablemate Autumn Glow remains the dominant $1.30 favourite.
With Aeliana’s withdrawal, Waller will now be represented by three runners in the reduced seven-horse field — Autumn Glow, Lindermann and Wootton Verni — alongside rivals including Sir Delius and Dubai Honour.
Aeliana had been positioned on the third line of betting behind the in-form Autumn Glow, who is chasing an 11th consecutive win, and the established 2000m performer Sir Delius.
Also ruled out of Saturday’s Randwick meeting is Lazzura, who has been scratched from the Group 1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes (1600m) after being quoted around the $10 mark in early markets.
Pride Of Jenni heads betting for the Queen Of The Turf Stakes at $3.40, narrowly in front of Waller’s Lady Shenandoah at $3.60, while Matt Laurie’s Treasurethe Moment sits at $4.20.
Further withdrawals from the Queen Of The Turf include Bjorn Baker’s Perfumist and Ole Dancer, trained by the partnership of Peter Moody and Kath Coleman.
