Deny Knowledge, the Group 1-winning mare, has been retired following a disappointing performance in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) at Randwick last Saturday.

The decision to retire her was made public on Tuesday morning by Yulong Investments, who confirmed that the seven-year-old would be joining their prestigious broodmare band.

“Deny Knowledge is retiring happy and healthy,” Yulong Investments stated in their announcement. “We are thrilled with her contribution to our racing program, and it’s now time for her to begin the next chapter in her life.”

Throughout her impressive 41-start career, Deny Knowledge earned over $2.3 million in prize money. Her crowning achievement came in last spring’s G1 Might And Power Stakes, where she captured the title in a thrilling performance.

“Her victory in the Might And Power Stakes was a highlight of her career, and she will always be remembered as one of the top mares in recent seasons,” said her trainer Sam Freedman.

Deny Knowledge’s retirement adds to a growing list of high-profile mares hanging up their racing boots. Recently, other notable horses, such as Place Du Carrousel and Amelia’s Jewel, have also retired from the track.

“We’ve seen a shift in the industry as many top mares are transitioning to broodmare careers,” Freedman remarked. “It’s a testament to the quality of racing and breeding programs we have today.”

Deny Knowledge’s retirement marks the end of an era, but her legacy will live on through her future offspring.
