It has completely snuck under the radar that two outstanding young riders in Australia will make comebacks of sorts today and on the weekend.
Sammie Clenton, now a mother, has always been a star in the saddle and she clearly and often showed that as a champion apprentice two seasons ago.
She hasn’t ridden in a race for eight months, but today, with no fanfare whatsoever, at Scone, she makes a comeback with just the one ride.
Clenton will partner SAFARIS (Animal Kingdom-Strobic) a last start winner for trainer Rod Ollerton.
It goes around in race 5 at 3:45pm.
Clenton has partnered the 5YO before, in a recent barrier trial.
She is still an apprentice.
As is Justin Huxtable, the precociously talented Queensland rider who has been sidelined for nearly two months.
He is back race riding on Saturday.
