Sandown will host two Saturday metropolitan meetings in consecutive weeks with the Moonee Valley return delayed.
The Australian Hurdle and Steeplechase meeting is at Sandown on Saturday with the transferred Moonee Valley meeting on June 4.
Jamie McGuinness, Racing Victoria’s general manager of infrastructure, said the transfer would allow Moonee Valley additional time to recover from a renovation to address a root disease the track suffered in March.
Moonee Valley is also scheduled to race on June 18 and the track will be monitored to see whether that meeting can go ahead.
With Sandown now holding the extra meeting, the following Wednesday fixture at the track has been transferred to Sale.
