Racing Victoria is set to convene a strategy meeting with major stakeholders in the sport on Tuesday morning in the Melbourne CBD.
The session is aimed at gathering diverse visions for the future of racing from each participant group.
Invited to this meeting are the three metropolitan clubs – the Victorian Racing Club, the Melbourne Racing Club, and the Moonee Valley Racing Club – along with Country Racing Victoria (CRV).
Key industry associations like the Australian Jockeysโ Association, the Australian Trainersโ Association, the Victorian Breeders Association, and the Thoroughbred Racehorse Owners Association are also expected to attend and contribute.
Each group will have the opportunity to present their views and ideas for up to 25 minutes.
The agenda is anticipated to include robust discussions on several critical topics such as club funding from Racing Victoria, operational costs of racing, prizemoney, race dates, the number of race meetings, infrastructure, welfare, and facilities.
Racing Victoria’s CEO Andrew Jones highlighted the significance of this session, especially post-Spring Carnival, as it will play a crucial role in shaping the direction for 2024.
He expressed that this is an ideal time for these key groups to come together and plan for the upcoming year.
