Racing Victoria stewards are investigating a social media post made by Hubert Racing following the scratching of Lady Of Five from Saturday’s Blue Diamond Preview at Caulfield.
Brisbane trainers Peter and Will Hulbert were forced to withdraw the filly from the $250,000 Group 3 event over 1000 metres after becoming stuck in traffic on the Monash Freeway while travelling to the meeting.
The matter has drawn attention after a post from the Hubert Racing account on X referred to the individual involved in the traffic incident using an offensive term, prompting Racing Victoria to review the comments.
The post stated: “Lady Of Five is fine guys.
“We allowed 2 hours for a 50 minute trip to Caulfield and some retard crashed on the highway and stuffed everything.
“She will have a jumpout Tuesday at Pakenham and race next weekend at Caulfield in the 1000m Group 3 Chairman’s.”

Lindsay Park filly La Gitana was also caught in the same traffic congestion on the Monash Freeway and was scratched from the meeting.
The Hulberts had planned a quick Melbourne raid with Lady Of Five ahead of a tilt at the $2 million Inglis Millennium (1100m) at Randwick on February 7.
Will Hulbert expressed his frustration following the incident, referencing conversations with fellow trainer Trent Edmonds.
“It’s like Trent said to me, all those years of driving in that traffic to the Gold Coast and we never missed a meeting,” Hulbert said.
“When Trent got to the accident he said one car had run up the bum of another and put a tiny dent in it.
“The bullbar of the other car came off but no-one would pick it up off the highway.”
