Champion mare Black Caviar’s second foal to race Prince Of Caviar has debuted with a fourth at Sandown on Saturday.
Prince Of Caviar jumped as the second favourite in betting but his chances of emulating his mums unbeaten career were dashed after he was slow to begin and settled at the rear of the field.
Despite being slow to jump and getting into an awkward spot in the run Prince Of Caviar powered home to run a good fourth suggesting he has a promising racing career ahead of him.
Trainer Wayne Hawkes has always had the opinion Prince Of Caviar will be better as a 3YO and over further distance which was evident in the colts first start.
