An owner has received a 21 month ban from ownership following the body condition and subsequent death of a horse.
Owner Daniel Riley received a 21 month suspension from Racing NSW after an inquiry was made into the death of Liezhi Mei.
Daniel Riley was found guilty of failing to provide proper and sufficient nutrition for Liezhi Mei resulting in the mare losing body condition.
Liezhi Mei was found upon veterinary inspection on 28 June 2019 to have a body condition score of 0/5.
Liezhi Mei was subsequently euthanised due to her poor body condition.
Mr Riley was disqualified for a period to commence on 11 December 2019 and expire on 11 September 2021.
