Naturalism Stakes winner Positivity has been withdrawn from Saturday’s Caulfield Cup following an unsatisfactory trot-up on Friday. Trainer Andrew Forsman made the decision to scratch the four-year-old mare after she failed to meet his expectations during the routine check.
Fancy Man, who recently finished third in the Group 2 Herbert Power Stakes over 2400m, will now take her place in the Caulfield Cup field. Trained by Annabel Neasham and Rob Archibald, Fancy Man will jump from barrier three, with Ron Stewart booked to ride.
Meanwhile, connections of Deny Knowledge and Young Werther are anxiously awaiting the outcome of re-inspections by Racing Victoria vets. Both horses were flagged for showing altered gaits during Thursday’s assessments, and their participation in the race remains uncertain pending further evaluations.
The final line-up for the Caulfield Cup continues to evolve as trainers and stewards manage late changes, ensuring the field is fit and ready for one of Australia’s most anticipated races of the spring carnival.
Positivity was a $31 chance with betting sites before she came out of the race. Fancy Man is currently a $91 chance in markets.
