Danny Nikolic has been granted a stay of proceedings pending an appeal against a careless riding suspension and is free to ride at this week’s Warrnambool carnival.
Among his four rides on Wednesday is the Clinton McDonald-trained sprinter Second Effort in the Listed Wangoom Hcp (1200m).
Warrnambool has been a happy hunting ground for Second Effort who has won at the carnival for the past two years.
Nikolic has appealed the decision and severity of the eight meeting penalty imposed when he was found guilty of careless riding on Arrised at Mornington last week.
The Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board will hear the appeal on Friday.
