Multiple Group One winner Sunlight is set to miss the start of the Autumn racing carnival after suffering an injury in the paddock.
Sunlight suffered a chipped splint bone in an accident in the paddock which is set to interrupt the beginning of her Autumn campaign.
“She’s had a paddock accident and somehow, she has chipped the bottom of her splint bone off on her near hind leg,” McEvoy said.
“It’s not major thankfully. I’ve spoken to the surgeon and to my vets and normally, it is a very straightforward procedure, although it’s an anesthetic, which is always a risk.”
Sunlight was being targeted at the G1 Black Caviar Lightning as her Autumn return although that is now off the table with trainer Tony McEvoy to reaccess her campaign when she is able to return to training.
