Bohemian Diamond hopefully gets the day rolling for Morton in race two, Bondi Plunge in race six and in the seventh, True Apostle can end the day on a winning high in the last.

Bohemian Diamond holds favouritism in her 1400m event and caught the eye in a recent barrier trial when she finished powerfully for second

Currently $3.20 with Tabtouch, Morton is looking for Bohemian Diamond to bounce back after running last at her previous start: the Listed Natasha Stakes (2200m) in March.

“She looks to be back where we expect her to be,” Morton said on Tabradio.

“At her last start she was obviously disappointing and didn’t pull up fantastic from that.

“But she’s had a faultless prep, trialed really good the other day at Lark Hill and has worked good since.

“She’s drawn a good marble and Chris is on board, so I expect her to go good.”

Looking to break maiden status at start number six in the Work Amongst The Raceday Action-Perth Racing Recruiting Now Maiden (1400m), Bohemian Diamond has drawn barrier five for Chris Parnham.

Bondi Plunge doesn’t possess an elaborate winning record, but according to Morton, she’s never far from the mark.

Since winning her maiden in February, the Bondi mare has reeled off four straight placings at Ascot, the previous a third behind smart gallopers Fly With Caution and Cool Memory.

Going in without a trial, the four-year-old is the rock-solid $2.80 favourite to make a successful return in the Glenroy Chaff Handicap (1200m).

“She doesn’t have to improve too much on what she was doing last time around,” Morton said.

“You’d think she’d be winning one of these, she was always in pretty good company.

“She’s furnished a little bit, looks good and again, working good.

“I feel like she’s in for a good prep and is stronger this time in.”

In a 10-horse line-up, Parnham and Bondi Plunge commence from gate four.

True Apostle and Centre Bond are fighting out market lead in the Macmahon Handicap (1200m).

True Apostle, a son of Playing God, showed a stack of promise in his maiden campaign in April.

He scored a fighting win on debut at Pinjarra and lost no admirers when taken straight to town next.

Trapped wide for the majority of his race, he finished four-lengths third behind Spice Is Right before being tipped out.

“He’s a beauty, a big, rangy horse,” Morton said.

“He’ll only improve on what he’s done.

“I feel like he’s a nice horse in the making.”

True Apostle goes up against 15 rivals and jumps from barrier one.

At $4.60, he sits behind Centre Bond ($4.00) in Tabtouch betting.
