A horse who has a guaranteed spot in Tuesday’s Melbourne Cup Field is in doubt after failing to veterinary inspections.
Trainer Murray Baker has told reporters he does not think stewards will allow his Melbourne Cup horse Jon Snow from accepting in Tuesday’s Cup after failing a vet inspection yesterday afternoon and again this morning.
Cismontane who won the Lexus Stakes gained the last official spot in the Melbourne Cup Field which means International contender Thomas Hobson would be 25th in order however if Jon Snow does not accept for the final field Thomas Hobson will gain a start in the $6.5m race.
Jon Snow is a $41 chance in Melbourne Cup markets.
