Angel Of Truth is guaranteed a start in the Melbourne Cup Field but would need to show connections something in today’s Bendigo Cup to warrant lining up in the $7.5m race next week after a disappointing run in the Caulfield Cup last time out.
Raheen House, Brimham Rocks, Captain Cook and Sully all need to win today’s Bendigo Cup to potentially receive a weight penalty for the Melbourne Cup although it traditionally isn’t a race handicapper Greg Carpenter rates too highly when doing so.
