Cups hopeful Mark Twain is out of the Spring Carnival after suffering a tendon injury.
The five-year-old gelding, trained by Roger James and owned by OTI Racing, had secured a ballot-free entry to the Melbourne Cup with his Roy Higgins win in March.
However, the injury has dashed those plans, ruling him out of the entire spring campaign.
Extremely disappointed to report that Mark Twain has sustained a tendon injury at home with @Kingsclere_Nz and will be withdrawn from the Australian spring racing carnival.
He will be provided the best care during his rehab and we hope to have him back to his best in 2025.

Mark Twain was a $26 chance with bookmakers in 2024 Melbourne Cup betting.
