One of the leading contenders for the Blue Diamond Stakes, O’ Ole, has been officially withdrawn from the race and will head for a spell.
Trainer Bjorn Baker, who is based in Sydney, confirmed that O’ Ole did not recover as well as expected following a barrier trial on Thursday. As a result, the decision was made to forgo plans of racing in next Saturdayβs feature juvenile event.
Before the announcement, O’ Ole was listed as an $8 chance with betting sites in the Blue Diamond betting markets.
Baker shared the update via X on Friday afternoon, stating that while the trial performance was satisfactory, the filly was not in peak condition.
“She was trotted up this morning and found to be slightly lame,” Baker posted.
“She will now head for a spell so unfortunately will not run in next week’s Blue Diamond.”
