John Singleton to sell his $100m horse racing empire

Horse racing icon John Singleton has decided to part ways with his illustrious horse racing empire.

Singleton, who has dedicated five decades to the industry, is selling his renowned Strawberry Hill Stud along with more than 100 prized horses for a staggering sum exceeding $100 million.

Singleton had long maintained that he would relinquish ownership of his empire once this milestone was achieved.

The sale will include an impressive lineup of horses, encompassing foals, mares, yearlings, and racehorses.

Additionally, his sprawling Mount White home, serving as the central base for the horses, is also up for grabs.

Throughout his distinguished racing career, Singleton has enjoyed numerous successes, boasting celebrated horses such as More Joyous, Strawberry Road, and Gypsy Kingdom.

The transaction is scheduled to take place at the end of August, with the farm and its five houses set to follow suit.

While Singleton intends to keep some horses co-owned with others, such as Hawaii Five Oh, he has expressed his waning interest in the extensive and demanding process of horse racing and breeding, especially given his age.

Currently, Singleton is actively searching for a beachfront property with ample acreage on the Central Coast to enjoy a peaceful retirement.
