A documentary on champion jockey James McDonald will make its television premiere tonight, with Racing NSW giving audiences an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the career of one of the sport’s most decorated riders.
The film will air on Fox Sports (Channel 502) at 7:30pm AEST and will also be available to stream anytime via Kayo or BINGE. It will simultaneously receive a global release through DAZN, reaching more than 400 million subscribers across over 200 countries.
The documentary charts McDonald’s rise to the top of the sport, exploring the dedication, discipline and pressure that comes with competing at the elite level of thoroughbred racing.
Racing NSW Chief Executive Peter V’landys AM said the film offered fans a rare glimpse into what drives one of racing’s biggest names. “This documentary showcases the extraordinary skill, discipline and resilience required to be a top-level jockey, while also giving audiences a deeper understanding of James McDonald as a person,” V’landys said. “Sport is driven by personalities β and taking fans behind the scenes builds a powerful connection and brings racing to a broader audience.”
